Got the itch to revisit Warhammer “WAR.” Got a “fair” priced for a 60 day time card; I think after the over billing debacle Warhammer time cards are a hot item. Still a few dollars cheaper than a OTC 60 day card.

EDIT: Connection issues and graphics glitches. On a 10 day welcome back.. see if I'll use the 60 day time code or sell it on e-bay.

EDIT (6/8/10): Will let the 10 days free run out. Hold on too the 60 day WAR time code for now. Guess WAR just not doing it for me as I thought it would. Think as its a heavy RvR game and I like a more PvE. So I went back to EVE as its a no "end-game" game. More my speed.

Blood Bowl

Blood Bowl arrived Friday. Install and patch with no issues; did a few video and audio config changes. Game runs great.
Did the tutorials and a few single turn based matches (based on original rules). And ..

It's fun and tough. I'm doing "easy" and find I'm getting my ass handed to me. However, after four matches I found I am losing by less each time.

Does it scratch my Warhammer itch. Well little. BB is a strategy game, and I was hooked on the MMORPG Warhammer. They are two different games; and guess its playing the RPG I miss.

Still .. out of the box BB is fun and challenging. And for my eBay price was worth it.

Blood Bowl on the way

My last post I praised the PvE in WoW. Happy being back leveling my Orc Warlock in Northrend. Still I miss Warhammer from time to time. I find I really got hooked on the Warhammer universe.
Back in August I ran across Blood Bowl and posted about it.

I got a copy off eBay for a great price and it’s on the way. This was no easy task. To find a localized (English) copy was no easy task. Lots of English DVD copies (Asian manuals) in Thailand. Price with shipping I felt I’ll just download it off the site.

Find I’m excited to play. I do not play any sports games. I’m not a football, baseball, etc kind guy. However, talking to someone who has the game and it’s far from football and more a strategy game.

And I get to play Greenskins!

So will it scratch my Warhammer itch? Excited to see.

WAR takes AoC

Took a bite out of Warhammer (WAR) and decided it will be my MMO for now. Age of Conan (AoC) has improved however playing WAR I notice I group way more, I like the casual RvR combat, enjoy many of my alts and love playing my Orc.

The new Choppa class has quickly become one of my favorites.

Other games..

I took Witcher and Mass Effect off for now (both good games) as MMOs typically take up lots of play time. However, I will keep Fallout 3 loaded and grab the Mothership Zeta DLC. Just love Fallout 3.

I still keep Battlefield 2 and Sins of a Solar Empire installed to scratch my FPS and RTS itch.

WAR Updates

8/6/09 - Got my first tactic Longer and Stronger and plan to get out to some PQs, Scenarios, RvR see how it helps.

Also got my first armor set (the Obliterator set chest, gloves and boots). Need more RR to start to wear it.

And one thing I really love about WAR:

- Game looks great; (I love the art style and how the character models look, the environment, armor and weapon graphics.
- Different classes. Call them “mirrored” if you like however I see them as different. So the variety of alts is high on my awesome meter. Way better than any other MMO I can think of (except EQ2)
- I like the RvR: OK at least T1 to 3 is fantastic so I may never be much in T4; however, as my last point, I have lots of alts to play in the fun tiers.
- I’m new to the Warhammer universe and really love the world / lore, etc.
- Love the UI of the game and the ToK.
- Love the Greenskins!
- Mac client coming! Nice.

Choppa Update

Choppa has really hooked me. I quickly out ranked my Squig Herder (I hit rank 13 Realm rank 11 other night) so Gorjaw has locked his place as my new main character. During this “do-over” of my main I’m trying to do little more scenarios and jump into oRvR when ever I can. Another nice “do-over” benefit was I was able to get two of the oRvR Greenskin influence rewards during my short time in tier one.

Also I had enough renown to grab the first tier two shoulders. .. looks awesome!

I did drop both apothecary and cultivation and took up scavenging and talisman crafting. I only did a few talismans. I really took it up for scavenging and the money it brings. Based on my experience with my Witch Hunter I was able to get lots of coin from just selling savaged items to vendors. If I put rare talismans items in AH then could fetch more.
Later I can go back and do talisman crafting. For now the goal is to grow my money stash and scavenging really helps with that.

Just a quick post on a mastery plan for Gorjaw

I like the following abilities:
Longer and Stronger
Keep On Choppin'
Can't Stop Da Chop
Furious Choppin'
No Fightin' Back!

I also like these as the abilities are not dual wield or great weapon specific. Will start on the path of Da' Wrecka first to get that sweet tactic.

New Choppa

Got me a brand new Choppa.

Name / title: Gorjaw “da scraper” Bloodbath
DoB: 17 Mar 09
Weight: 467 lbs (563 when enraged)
Height: 7’2” (8’1” when enraged)

Played lots last night both PvE / PQs and RvR. And so far really like the Choppa / melee DPS. Some of the PvE multi-mob fights get little close, make for exciting "kill fast or die fast" combat. And in RvR I can put a hurt on the opposition and take a few down with me.

Brand spanking new Choppa in the new loin cloth and fresh war paint.

Rank eight pic. New armor (some renown gear, some drop and PQ) and weapons.

And had to recreate the Gorefang pic (with dwarf head) with Gorjaw as I was able to complete both CE quests and one reward is the Dwarf head (great gift for the Green skin in your life)..

The abilities are great so far and the rage / berserk play mechanic is a blast. And love the Lotsa Choppin animation and ability.

Rank eight is great. Good level to be at when running in tier1 RvR, lots of quests and from rank 8 to 11 I get to setup my attack order. And lots more good to come in tier 2.

Currently I am duel wielding however I may give a great weapon a swing (yea.. pun intended) and see how that works. Also have not settled on a mastery path yet. All look pretty good.

Lots of good choppin to come as Gorjaw starts his adventures in Warhammer.
