Last night a 65ft statue of Jesus was it my lighting and burned. I'll leave the irony for you to wallow in. However, a story posted that the church was going to rebuild gave me the ideas for the new statue.

So here is Big Butter Jesus version 2:

Did something I have not done in years. Dusted off the fly rod and vest and headed out to fish. Fishing in Ohio is not the same as out west. No open land to head to find a spot; also this is bass territory. However, I did hear of the Mad River sticking trout and this is a good time to fish them.

I intended to get into small mouth with the fly rod, however wanted to check out trout spot on the Mad River. So headed out Sunday and did little scouting of Kiser Lake; looks like a nice float tube lake as it had no motors allowed and it apx 45 minus drive. Did no fishing at the lake however I headed over to a access spot for the Mad River.

I arrived and there was no one around. I know it was Easter Sunday .. still I expected at lease one or two others. Get on the gear and tie on a fly and headed out. Water was cool, clear and not flowing too fast to wade in. After losing one fly and catching two trees I started to double I had any knack for fishing again. I was never a hard core fly fisher; if I caught three to four small trout in Idaho I was ecstatic. Switched flys to a prince nymph; picked a spot near a log that looked good. Still thinking this day was just going to be an exercise in casting and knot tying day. Then bang! I got a fish! And that little brown trout made my day.

I’m not a total loss. I can still read the water; and get a fly where I want and catch a fish. Felt good and look forward to doing little more.
Lots going on but little blogging. Mom visiting and I have a summer class to teach (yea). Happy True Blood (HBO series) is back and summer season of Burn Notice.
I did get Mass Effect, installed, patched and started the game. However, my last save is standing at the start of the very first mission; so have not really started playing yet.

Have my eye on the new iPhone. The better camera and the video capture looks very cool. Also… Found out I get a discount on the monthly plan through work so I may take the leap and get an iPhone 3GS.

Update: Working on a new drawing. However been without a printer/scanner/fax (as my HP died a few weeks ago) and I need a scanner to get my hand drawign onthe mac.
I picked up a Brother MFC 490CW. Hooked it up Monday and can say scanner works good and was able to setup easy on Mac and Vista and XP. On XP had to load little more than the driver to find it on the network. Its software was way better over HP, HP was super bloat ware.

When things get back to normal I'll have time to work on my latest drawing.

Went ahead and setup a FaceBook (FB) account last week.

I was little hesitant as I like to control my own content (i.e. FB license agreements, etc.). However, glad I’m in FB now.
This may curtail some of my bogging, however I sill like to have place to upload higher quality videos, photos and art. Also longer posts that don’t make sense in FB can live here. So it’s nice to have both places to interact in.

I haft to admit find it more fun than I expected.
I finished the second book in the Sword of Truth series. I liked it however will take a break for something new. Well not “new” as the book one was original released in print in 1990.

I deiced to start into the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. Book one The Eye of the World

So I start my audio journey on in rustic village of Emond's Field in the The Two Rivers district of Andor. This seems like the type of story I enjoy .. a simple character thrust into an adventure. (i.e. Frodo in Lord of the Rings or Richard in the Sword of Truth).
Last night went to catch Disturbed ..

Great show btw!

Why blog about it .. been to lots of great concerts in my younger times (Van Halen, Depeche Mode on the 101 tour at the Rose Bowl in LA .. just to name a few).

What was unique about last nights show was I took my daughter with me. She is sixteen and also loved Disturbed (Well I was the one who introduced her) and it was her first concert.
Initially I found out they were coming and thought “she does not want to go with her dad.”
I was wrong and very happy she wanted to go. We had a great time.

Also I expected I’d the old dad in a concert full of teens. I was wrong again; the Disturbed fans were a diverse bunch .. and all seemed to have a great time. Disturbed is fantastic live. And daughter and I had a blast (YEAAA .. * throws up the horns*).

Now I’ll sit here with my ears ringing and my voice scratchy from yelling. And smiling thing about the fun we had.
